|Thanks to HiNDU NiGHTS, rock ’n roll has become fashionable again within the Belgian nightlife scene.
Rock 'n roll has regained the status it lost somewhere in the eighties when ‘beats’ became the central
element of a night out.
We recently read a blog stating that HiNDU NiGHTS is not very orginal since it plays the same music
over and over again and the DJs can't mix. We guess that girl was right. However, that shouldn't be a
problem. There are plenty of other nights where you can 'dance to' Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike or Avici.
Those nights will be full of awfully dressed 'wrong uns' though, but that's another issue.
For us HiNDU NiGHTS still shows that there’s nothing sexier than girls dancing to The Beatles, Aretha
Franklin and Arctic Monkeys. What started in the infamous Make Up Club 7 years ago, now takes place
in the Vooruit and not one single night has not sold out, which is an impressive record and that’s good
enough for us.
For the fourth year in a row, HiNDU NiGHTS will also close the year in true rock ’n roll style. With four
different areas, everyone in love with the atmosphere of the Sixties will adore this fabulous winter-night.
In the Hindu Ballroom we resolutely choose Indie with the biggest hits of Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon
and Oasis to name but a few. For a fat dose of Rock ’n Roll, there will be the Jack Daniels Café where
you will be able to let it all loose on the hits of amongst others The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols and The Beatles.
If you’re in the mood for a mellower vibe, you can go down to Motown & Soul in the Northern Soul Attic
where funky sounds from names as The Temptations, Diana Ross & The Supremes and Jackson 5 will
blast through the speakers. Need a break? Check Rudolph’s Winter Terrace with live music, wood fire,
Jagermeister, Gluhwein, blankets, cigarettes, vodka and hot chocolate (with vodka).
The music will be brought to you by the ‘usual suspects’ and some other DJs that can't mix
(but have an exquisite taste when it comes to rock 'n roll music) next to some fine live bands.
What the final line-up will look like exactly doesn’t really matter because the atmosphere always remains
the same: an over excited crowd that loudly sings along and craves for the best classics.
Tickets are now available on: www.hindunights.be and you better get yours quickly if you do not want
to miss this night! The New Year’s edition always sells out faster than the other ones.
